Hari Raya Puasa Potluck

Hari Raya Puasa is a religious festival that commonly celebrated by Muslims every year. This year, Hari Raya Pusa potluck was organized by my Malay colleagues. Simple dishes like chocolate brownies, lemang, ayam rendang and ketupat rice were served.

Lemang which is a traditional Malay (Indonesia and Singapore Malay) food. It's made of glutinous rice, coconut milk and salt, and cooked in a hollowed bamboo stick lined with banana leaves to prevent the rice from sticking to the bamboo. My family used to buy the plain lemang, however my Malay colleagues mentioned that lemang tasted better along with meat particularly ayam rendang. Well, the price of lemang has been increased incessantly till RM12 or more for one bamboo of lemang.

Ayam rendang slowly cooked in coconut milk and spices until the chicken meats absorb all the condiments.

Ketupat rice is like dumpling as it's wrapped inside the woven palm leaves. It reminded me of satays. Oh yea, why satays are not included? :P

The chocolate brownies which was handmade by Leen were definitely a great pleasant to us.

Today my dad had brought back nice vegetable buns and fried taro puffs.The fried taro puffs has crispy skin which looks similar like crispy curry puffs. The delicately crisp exterior with the seasoned pork make these taro puffs having epicurean taste. Note: Calories**

Before Mooncake Festival

It was great to have holidays after some tragic moments that I experienced..Haha..it sounded bad?lol..Anyway, I am getting back into shape. Gotta thank my friends especially my course mates who had encouraged and supported me.. Ok, I shall note the self-promise here..I GOTTA STUDY BUSINESS LAW,MOT AND JAPANESE..oh no, i m gonna in deep trouble since I wasted quite some time. Hmm..lacked of good mood and because of sickness and insomia..huh.. my study plan has dragged some time..

In short, MIA in the past few days..

Well, I wanna blog about this...Mom, Thank you! I am getting admired of her hands, her determination for baking life and her baking skill!She baked moon cakes again this year, and I ♥ mooncakes!!!

Christmas Day

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

As dad needed to work and brother had to attend tuition, so we didn't have celebration. Hahaha..anyway,I celebrated it by sleeping^^ This year, neighbour stopped organising christmas party, so we didn't have turkey to eat, no nice foods..T.T.. yet we had received gifts like in the retrospect. LOL..

Haha.. my Xmas gift from neighbour this year= the hp's chain holder- a cow..

En, that's your Xmas gift-- a towel...

Min's Xmas gift- a nice handbag which had a rabbit toy on it.!!!

Mid-Autumn Festival 03/10/2009

Mid-Autumn Festival 03/10/2009 It was the 1st time that I celebrated Mid-autumn Festival without being with my family. Of course, I hoped I had celebrated it with my family-drink tea, enjoy the scenery of the moon in my hse's car porch, eat mom's handbaked mooncakes together...Anyway,I had celebrated it with my fellow friends in UTHM and it was fun and enjoyful! We had planned the programme since last 2 weeks and hui en had bought lanterns during the holidays.It was lcuky that the rain had stopped about 8.30pm on that particular day so that we were able to organize this programme sucessfully. the candid photo (above)...LOOK! Those who missed the chance to have fun with us sure will feel regret !!!
