graduation photo at studio
Lack of Si En, shall have family photo-shooting session again.

The end of my degree life and it was the best memories I have had with the bunch of crazy yet truthful friends.
Friends who support you when you are in the deep troubles and sorrow.
Friends who fight for the similar goals together and never forget to play hard together too.
Till the day we will meet again soon!

And yea, I am officially graduated!

Next goal: Masters degree in the view :)

Reunion with University Friends @ Wufu Chok Dee Thai Restaurant & Victorious Cafe

The distance and lapse of time hadn't weaken the friendship bond of us and most of us from North, K.L. and South coming over to Batu Pahat for a short reunion and to pass our internship log book. I had thought of jotting a short review of Wufu Chok Dee Thai Restaurant during my first visit, however I decided to leave a blog post when there's better moment.

Notably, Wufu Chok Dee Thai Restaurant which was famous in the town had been chosen to be dined at.
It's definitely the best moment with great foods and great friends. Nevertheless, it was also putting an end to our university life as the final task i.e. internship log book had passed to lecturer successfully.

The Thailand cuisines here were splendid and scrumptious with authenticity. By the way, anyone had even mis-pronounced the name of the restaurant to "Chor Dai Dee" i.e. the card game.

Tom Yum Seafood Soup which had appropriate sourness and spiciness.
Generous portion of fresh prawns, squids, mushrooms and other ingredients were found in this big pot of tom yum seafood soup.

A closer look of the big pot of tom yam soup (RM18)

Pineapple fried rice which was the next dish that had delighted much.
It was tasted nearly like the fried rice that my mom cooked. Well, awesome dish!
Crunchy~
BBQ Pork with Iced Fresh Kale served with dippings

The BBQ Pork was marinated well and remained tender and juicy at each bite. We had been wondered if we had been given chicken meat instead of pork as the meats are really tender and appetizing. There was a glass of water being served along with this dish and we were still doubted the usage of the glass of water ( unsure if it's juice or...).

Victorious Cafe was the next venue for our girls'cozy chat. Well, the delectable cakes with good friends would make the night ends with smile on each face of us.

The presence of you all had made my journey in university life becoming meaningful.
I miss you guys and hope for the next meet up ;)

Chill Out at Batu Pahat- Steamboat Dinner, Childhood Game & Dessert

A fairly common variant is, "Time flies like the wind; fruit flies like a banana." After spending almost 4 years studying in Johor, this was the first time spending entire night at Batu Pahat town. Appreciating Wan Tian being our tour guide and we had a whale of time at food tour.

After class, we drove to Yong's Steam Boat Garden and Sea Food Restaurant (泳池生锅) to have our dinner. According to the local friends, this large steamboat restaurant is very famous and highly recommended. Until today, I am still puzzled about the name of the restaurant as the locals call it as poolside steamboat. In fact, I didn't find any swimming pools nearby.

The steamboat restaurant has offered wide selection of seafood and you may order stir fry dishes here. The steamboat menu alone features many ingredients that can be boiled or grilled, including seafood, surimi seafood (fish-based food product) and vegetables.

The waiters & waitresses pushed a tray with ingredients for us to choose. We opted for layered seafood tofu, meatballs, dumplings, scallops, prawns and etcetera. The fresh fish in the aquarium look extremely attractive, however we did not order due to the subsequent eating session.

The  foods are boiled, let's start eating!

Fried chickens - one of the signature dishes! Thumb-up!
Fried pumpkins which cooked with salted egg yolk.. Tasty! We have ordered two plates for this.
Lastly we ended the dinner with desserts which are free of charge.
Overall, the foods here are quite nice and prices still at mid-range. Hopefully I will have chance to come over again.

As you sow, as you shall reap!

Final Year Thesis
It was the final assignment and the hardest assignment I had done so far in this 7 semesters. It made a full stop in my assignments life as well as degree studies in terms of course work.

Words are hard to be describe my feeling to see the thesis completed. I had sacrificed the semester break to visit several banks to obtain approvals for getting my questionnaires distributed. Nonetheless, I had been rejected and also had met few helpful staffs who willing to approve the questionnaire distribution. The cooperation given is highly appreciated! After all, the paperwork, SPSS Statistics and presentation to panels and etc.

Finishing this final year papers with blood, sweat and tears and finally observing the research were printed in thesis format. It may not be the best research paper but I am very glad that there are few people who read into what I wrote and shared with me their professional insights. Last but not least, I would like to take the chance to express my gratitude towards Dr Rosmaini Bin Tasmin. A good lecturer who never forget to supervise us, providing insights in enhancing our research although he was very busy with his own research and lessons. Hopefully we did not disappoint him. Apart from that, the team is great and thanks to Jyi Chong who often helped in scheduling a meeting with our supervisor.

Gathering @ 梅林海鲜楼 ; Parit Raja

I guess that I will search my entire blog in order to find where I have had foods with my university friends in this small town at Parit Raja; Johor one day. Perhaps this blog post will help in connecting me with old friends back in future. Honestly speaking, there aren't many choices of restaurants for us to choose when we want to organize gathering.

  • Chicken Delight
  • MK Restaurant
  • Mui Lim Restaurant
  • Mc Donald Restaurant
Before having the final battle of studies and going back to each hometown for internship, we have decided to have a gathering in  梅林海鲜楼 . We have heard that the owner had planned to close the restaurant. In future, the juniors might be puzzled where to have nice Chinese foods afterwards.

Some simple dishes that we have ordered:

batu pahat food
Deep fried sotong with salted egg
 Pork ribs
mui lim parit raja
Lemon chicken

Hmm.. by seeing the amount of foods I have eaten,  is this the reason how I gain more weight than at home? Haha..

Gathering and Pre-Christmas Celebration

I would say that it was a pre-Christmas Celebration as we had a gathering and changing Christmas present at the end of the gathering. Time flied and it came to the final month of the year 2013. The last gathering before each attending the battle of final year project presentation next week and final exams, and yea, before we go back to hometown to have our internship! It was a confused moment as I didn't wish to complete my degree studies that fast as I would miss this bunch of buddies.

The gathering was held at Dong Seoul, Batu Pahat. I was very dissatisfied with the service here as we were served very slow. The staffs were inattentive as we needed to ask them to refill our side dishes for several times. At the end, we were told that we could only refill three side dishes at one time. Huh?! But we requested for several times, why a side dish need to be served after few requests?! A bad experience to dine at there, and I would say Nay for the 2nd visit.

In spite of the dining place, we had our meals. The laughter and chat among more than 30 of us had filled the entire Dong Seoul.

A surprise was given by my friends and a birthday celebration for those who born in November and December.

Birthday cake
5 of us celebrated together :)

Thanks to these bunch of coursemates!
Afterwards, our pre-Christmas Celebration commenced. We exchanged gifts by using lucky draw method.
It had been a very long time since we had such exchanging gift game.

My pick, a cute sailboat made of  seashells.
