Great Prize Won (II)- The MALAYSIA Street

This is a subsequent post following the previous post of Great Prizes Won  written in year 2012. Instead of mentioning the prizes which I had won after July 2012, I thought of focusing on rewards which I achieved from The Malaysia Street

If you browse through Google for The Malaysia Street information, it is ranked #381,588 in the world, a low rank means that this website gets lots of visitors. A brief information regarding this website:

The Malaysia Street has initiated by Starcom MediaVest Group Malaysia (SMG) since September 2010. It is a space for youth to share their opinions/ views of products or services and issues that affect our lives. In other words, it is similar like a forum. Each month, the network moderator will post few featured topics for youths to discuss and share their opinions. The eligible members will be awarded for RM150 incentives quarterly for their participation for at at least 80% of the featured posts within period of three months. Are you attracted by the incentives provided?

Apart from that, bonus prizes will be given to top three leader board members and those who provide insightful and valuable opinions. A wide range of bonus prizes are awarded, for instance: dining vouchers, MPH bookstore vouchers, health care vouchers (e.g. Guardian, Body Shop and Watsons), stationery, bags and some limited editions merchandise.

From Year 2011-2012, I had won fabulous prizes including Yahoo Eco Journalbook which worth $16 and RM100 Nando's dining vouchers. There are a wide range of prizes that I had won subsequently during Year 2013 to present.

  • Yahoo merchandises

Y-Bang Fingerprint Laptop Case

Yahoo Bag which is big and has many compartments.
I am using it to attend classes and work :)

Well, apologies for the blur image.
Focus shall be on the yahoo earphones instead of black pig and koala plush toy.

  • Skype merchandise

The bag is convenient for bringing volleyball along.
  • Vouchers
During early year, The Malaysia Street had rewarded few contributors including me with Watsons RM100 vouchers. The luck continued till the last month, I had been rewarded with four movie vouchers again. I am planning to spend splendid time with my family for nice movies session.

movie vouchers

Starbucks Valentine Card which had been pre-loaded with RM50
- the best gift for a coffeeholic girl like me.

Before ending the blog post, I suppose most wonder how to join The Malaysia Street; an incentive-based social media platform. Currently they have been having members recruitment, targetting 15-24 years old youth.

Please do fill up my name i.e. Carene Cheang in the final questions of the recruitment form as the membership is by invitation only.

Last but not least, thanks to The Malaysia Street which has been set up and improved from time to time.
The benefits of joining as one of the members are not only incentives and bonus prizes, but also the abundant knowledge and information could be obtained from various members' discussion. It's really a great experience that you can interact with people from different background, races and education. Their valuable insights would be beneficial for you Also, you would be surprised that you aware of the issues/ new products through The Malaysia Street topics.

My Memory Makers- Samsung NX1000 & HTC ONE S

Sometimes, I do have lucks in winning some GREAT prizes by participating online contests. However, apart from luck, I did put efforts in writing good slogan and comments to win them. There were few prizes that had spiced up my life especially the lovely memories makers which are Samsung NX1000 and HTC One S phone. The memories makers had been my loyal companions for traveling and moments-capturing.

Samsung Smart NX1000 is an interchangeable-lens camera which is available in black, white and pink colour. The contributor in memories making process had arrived my hugs in year 2012. Unpacking the box revealing my stylish white Samsung Smart NX1000 which comes along with :
♥ 20-50mm F/3.5-5.6 ED Lens (White)
♥ SEF-8A Hot Shoe Mount Flash Unit
♥ BP1030 Lithium-ion Battery
♥ BC1030 Battery Charger & AC Cable
♥ Body Cap
♥ Camera Strap
♥ Micro USB Cable

#1   Smart settings
I was very impressed with Samsung NX1000 which takes great shots whether in all-auto (SMART) or various less-auto/manual modes. Before owning this stylish baby, I wasn't confident in Samsung branded camera. The effective automatic controls and manual settings is suitable for me whom is not an expertise in photography.

One of the night scenery that I had captured using Samsung NX1000

# 2   20.3 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor
The 20.3 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor made Samsung Smart NX1000 becoming the great competitor for DSLR.The high-speed capture and fast auto-focus enable the precious moments been captured unmistakably.

# 3  Smart Filters
I had lots of fun with its Smart filters which encompassed of Miniature, Soft Focus, Old Film1, Old Film2,, Halftone Dots, Sketch, Fish-Eye, De-fog and etcetera. Filters are just like bonus add-on to NX1000 as it eased us who love to share photographs with Instagram-filter effects. Hmmm, I hadn't tried to capture human using these filters, perhaps I shall try in future.

# 4  i-Function
The i-Function allows activation of menu controls to select ISO,filters by rotating the ring easily instead of clicking buttons, creating seamless experience in shooting.

# 5  Mobile link and WiFi Mode
The built-in features of mobile link and Wifi Mode are definitely attracted me who like to connect to WiFi hot spot and upload photos to social media sites like Facebook, Youtube, blog, and Photobucket. The capabilities of linking photos to offsite storage websites like dropbox makes me feel more secured as the photos are backed up safely.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my stylish camera's features and the quality of photos it had helped me to capture. The drawback would be the white colour design which needs extra care as it gets dirty easily. I have the headache of having yellowish looked camera straps and it has to be washed often.

HTC ONE S

The loyal companion which had been together with me for almost 1 year and a half. HTC One S may not be as good as its rivals like Samsung Note, iPhone, but it is definitely one of the stunning smartphones which able to take vivid and nice photos. Most of the photos in the blog ranged from 2013 onward are mostly taken by HTC One S.

HTC ONE S features :
3G, 4.3″ Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 8 MP camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth.

Beauty Box Subscription- Bag of Love November 2013

Recently, I found that there are many friends subscribed for both MIVVA Beauty Box and Bag of Love. Both owner uses the same concept by having cosmetic products or samples to be sent to customers with their own designed box (MIVVA Beauty Box) or bag (Bag of Love). In other words, there would be beauty products (skin care, hair care, cosmetics, fragrances etc etc) delivered right to your doorstep every month along with their designed bag or box. I personally like the idea as the bag or box could be recycled/reused; and they could be sent to friends as gift too.

Upon my birthday month, I decided to subscribe for Bag of Love's November bag as my birthday gift. I subscribed it because the Facebook website had announced that there will be a Panasonic product in the bag. This had attracted me! From Panasonic website, I found several possible items that could be included in the bag such as  tweezer, eyelashes curler or electronic toothbrush. Moreover, the next teaser was Levi’s Denim Tote.

Un-wrapping gift brought excitement and I was on cloud nine when I saw the electronic toothbrush!
The bag included the items as shown in the picture below:

beauty box subscription

1) Panasonic Pocket Doltz Toothbrush..

I did not expect electronic product will be given in beauty box subscription. In my mind, I thought that beauty box should be filled with cosmetic stuffs or skin care products. Nevertheless, this electronic toothbrush is very convenient and easy to be used. Clear instruction was given along with the toothbrush.

bag of love

2) DOVE Hair Therapy Hair Fall Rescue Shampoo (90ml) and Conditioner (80ml)

This brand doesn't give me much confidence as my hair turns dry when I used their hair-care products previously. From the advertisement, it shows that the hair therapy hair fall rescue shampoo contains Trichazole actives to nourish roots and help keep hair firmly locked in. Perhaps I shall give DOVE one more chance.

3) ELIZABETH ARDEN Red Door Aura EDT (1.2ml)

This fragrance has a strong floral scent, just nice for me! By the way, why it's not in a full size?  Haha.. I am just greedy!

4) CLARINS Double Serum® Complete Age Control Concentrate (1ml per sachet)

It's the first time I come across this range of products. A serum which can defy all signs of ageing- it lets me thinking of SK II. The catalog highlighted that firmer skin, reduced wrinkles, more even complexion and less visible pores after using this product. I thought of passing this for my mom to try.

bag of love

4) Last but not least, the denim tote bag...

It's a Levi's denim bag, without the logo of Bag of Love. It is made of durable denim material, and it's in an average size which is useful for casual outing. The interior design of the denim bag is great and this combination with denim has made it looked more trendy.

Did I get my RM39.90 worth? I think it was reasonable. The denim Levi's tote bag and overall generous sized samples made it look impressive for me. However, I was a bit disappointed as I was actually hoping for more skin-care products.

Reebonz - Unveil The Surprise

This is a delayed post which I just had decided to jot down in my territory for future perusal after viewing few photos of items that I obtained from Reebonz. My another post i.e The craze before Year 2011 ends had mentioned how my university friends found this website and had tried to use the free credits given to try their products. The watch I received had just lasted for few weeks and battery wasn't able to be exchanged. A defect watch- Sad! The pair of salt and pepper container was received in good condition.

Reebonz (pronounced "Ribbons") is a private online shopping destination of premier brands and private sales. The website is exclusively for members and sale events last for 2-3 days before closing. It was founded in March 2009 and it had become well known for public as one of the most trusted online brand when it comes to sell and buy luxurious brands. Also, I got to know about many luxurious brands through this website such as Prada,Miu Miu, Tod's, Chanel, Kate Spade, Coach, Marc Jacobs and etc.

The craze of browsing Reebonz website had become more extreme when Reebonz organized Facebook contest in which fabulous surprised could be unveiled by luck. It was just like a lucky draw and I wished to win Leghila bag initially.

The great surprise was unveiled during November 2012 and I wasn't really believed that I won the 1st prize. I was on cloud nine when a big black box tied with gold ribbons was handed over by the Poslaju driver to me. I guessed the passerby might think that it's given by boyfriend or admirer. LOL.

Coach bag- My mom's present  :)
It has a barcode inside.

Below are some great deals I obtained using the free credits given by Reebonz.

Marc Jacob's bracelet

I am impressed with the fast delivery and the quality of products I received (except the defect watch which I was kinda disappointed because it was given as birthday gift to my sister). Hmm.. I hoped that the free credits will be continuously given but I think free credits were just for promoting Reebonz website to public at the moment.

KOSÉ Sekkisei Save the Blue Project

In this day and age, coral reefs are depleting pretty fast due to the water pollution and global warming. KOSÉ Save The Blue project is actually an initiative by KOSÉ to protect the world's fast depleting corals. KOSÉ products are made of natural resources and they place efforts in contributing back to the environment. KOSÉ Save The Blue  project has started from Japanese island of Okinawa, and now expands to Singapore and Malaysia. KOSÉ’s efforts will be directed to the corals in Pulau Tioman in Malaysia. That's great! I hadn't been to Pulau Tioman yet, hopefully I able to view coral reefs when I go there in future.

Anyone knows about the importance of coral reefs?

  • Coral reefs are natural habitat for many sea creatures.
  • They are the important source of oxygen in the ocean.
  • The most beautiful natural resources to provide you spectacular view when you have scuba diving.

KOSÉ Save The Blue project will donate a portion of sales of Sekkisei lotion towards the coral cultivation activity. Thus, each bottle of lotion purchased will expand the coral reef area by the base area of 1 Sekkisei bottle. This is a meaningful project which make me impressed with their idea. Well, a good start to protect our Mother Nature.

As a student, I am not affordable to purchase Sekkisei products from KOSÉ. Looking at the price tag, they could make me jaw-dropped. However, KOSÉ products are worth to be purchased and it's Japanese brand which is notable. According to my friend,  Sekkisei products help cleansing the facial skin and it gives snow white transulcent skin after using it. Hmm, I do think my face need some nice treatment as pimples keep popping out. It's annoying~

Under KOSÉ Save The Blue project, its Facebook page has also organized an application game. It's simple and easy! For freebies-lover like me, I enjoyed playing the game very much. Nonetheless, the prizes are attractive too. Once you achieve 50 points, you able to get 2pcs of Sekkisei Lotion mask, 3pcs of Sekkisei skin care travel kit set if obtain 125 points and Sekkisei Lotion 360ml is available to be redeemed if you obtain 200 points!

Answer questions to find out what kind of sea creature you are,
and choose your location and decorate your aquarium!
Mine is box fish, which I don't know this type of fish until I played the game =)
My aquarium =)
The available prizes to be redeemed =)

And yea, I redeemed mine =)
Going to redeem my lotion mask which I chose to collect in another outlet.

The preservation effort that Japanese government consolidate in keeping their country pollution-free and conserve the ocean is amazing. I wonder if our country can do the same since our country has many islands like Tiomand Island, Sipadan Island, Redang Island, Lang Tengah beach and lots more. It's advisable to learn, adapt and practise what other countries which have showed a good example of making their countries safe and beautiful~

Mr Bean Malaysia [ Closed ]

Yea, I am going to talk about Mr Bean today! Anyone watched the Olympic Opening Ceremony 2012? I think most of us are excited with the comedy character Mr. Bean who appeared during the ceremony playing piano with the London Symphony Orchestra. The extremely goofy Mr. Bean still never fail to make me laughed over the show!
Mr. Bean playing piano on a single note

But wait, anyone knows Malaysia has Mr Bean too? Nah, we name it as Mr Bean Malaysia. Here's a short description about Mr Bean: Mr Bean is the leading chain soya bean food and beverage retailer in Singapore and it had been expanded its market to many countries including China , Japan, Philippines and Malaysia! It's located at Lot K-G19-W, Ground Floor, The Curve Shopping Mall, Mutiara Damansara.

Hehe.. I came to Mr Bean Malaysia to redeem my prize that I won from Mr Bean Malaysia Facebook contest ( More details, refer: http://lovewinter19.blogspot.com/2012/07/great-prizes-won.html). I was impressed with the politeness of the counter's waiter as broad smile could be seen from far and when he served customers. While waiting for him to settle the procedures of checking my personal details and so forth, my dad and I had been capturing photos of the outlet.
