Europe Trip- Paris | The 'Iron Lady'- Eiffel Tower

18th November 2014

Bonjour Paris!
We kicked off the day with a simple breakfast in the hotel. There was limited choice of foods as only hot dogs, croissant, ham, cheese, scramble eggs and yogurt. I had chosen a glass of hot chocolate instead of coffee today.

The Superdad

Eiffel Tower

The most significant building in Paris; French known as  La Tour Eiffel or named as Eiffel Tower.
Just like Petronas Twin Tower in Malaysia, Eiffel Tower is the significant icon that shall be visited. This famous landmark of Paris had been conquered by us today.

We had admission to the 2nd level of Eiffel Tower. Some said that the steel architecture was not really so amazing as we thought of. However, I would say the architecture which was built in 1887 was really beautiful, providing an exceptional landmark for France itself. Let the pictures do the talking.

Dad was obsessed with the view of Paris city.

The capital of Fashion and romance- Paris

My most satisfied photo of the most prominent symbol of Paris; France- Eiffel Tower
There was a bunch of kids visiting Eiffel Tower.
A photo was captured when descended from the 2nd level of Eiffel Tower.

My sis insisted to have the bear following me throughout the Europe tour.
So, let's have a photo of it then.

Dad posed at the street nearby Eiffel Tower

It shall not be the first time having photo taken in front of Eiffel Tower.
I would like to re-visit this place again! Perhaps with lover next time?!
Well, night scenery and Eiffel Tower scenery in summer season might be more amazing.

Europe Trip- Paris | The Shopping Heaven- Galleries Lafayette

17th November 2014

The day spent on bus was rather long and I hardly had a good nap hence I had lots of photos taken; contributing the previous blog entry. We touched down Paris; the city that's renowned for lovers to have honeymoon trip. Literally, Paris is famous as a city of love and romance. Anyway, I had yet to see French kissing each other as one of the group members said that 7 steps of kissing taught by French: cheeks (twice for both side of cheek), forehead, lips and ended with french kiss. LOL

The first stop we had in Paris i.e. Galleries Lafayette located at Bd Haussmann . We were told to have 2 hours to be spent over here. By the look of the building, I thought that it was rather small inside.

A brief introduction was given by the staffs and each of us were given a map of the shopping centre. Also, the staff informed us that we could make Tax reduction ( VAT refund) with a receipt of EUR 175. The surrounding with the familiar slang of mandarin speaking people and words (Chinese and Malay) made me thinking that Galeries Lafayette was more like a shopping place for the tourists instead for the French.

Galeries Lafayette comprised of 7 stories of Lafayette Coupole, 3 stories of Lafayette Homme and 5 stories of Lafayette Maison. We started our shopping spree at women's heaven; Lafayette Coupole. Anything you could possibly need or desire could be searched and found here, including Pierre Herme's macaroon. The nice collection of Chloe, Lanvin, Prada, Hermes, Long champs, Chanel with insane crowds. The perfume floor was crowded and I hardly compared the nice scent of perfumes.

Holy shopping experience if you have much credits. The one thing that everyone can afford is the free view from the very top of the building; the food court area which you could see the beautiful Opera House, Eiffel Tower, Paris city and so on. Both of us were extremely tired, partly due to the stores was too stuffy and hot.

It was a tiring night and we checked in Mercure paris Ivry Quai de Seine. We both mentioned that we shall have tried the pastry at the 7th floor. Our stomachs growled :)

The dinner we had on the day was the free complimentary tea and instant noodles.

Europe Trip- Adventures from Netherlands to France; Country of Romance

17th November 2014

The adventure of my Europe Trip is continued from my previous entries on Netherlands. The weather of the day we left Netherlands to Paris was incredibly good, with sunshine and blue sky. We felt bad for this as our photos in KinderdijkDen HaagScheveningen and Zaanse Schans would be looking nicer with the presence of the Sun.

Netherlands

Passing through a bridge and the view of canals was simply enthralling.

There are lots of windmills along the side of the highway (autoroute) to the south of France

Hello, France! Bonjour Paris!
We touched down in Paris; the romantic city in 5 hours time.
It was about 5pm in Paris when we reached there.
