Undoubtedly, I am now a contest freak who like to join contests to win sweepstakes and prizes! At first, I was worried that personal identity could be stolen by just keying in personal details in order to join the contests apart from some contests require hours or weeks for playing ( game contests) to qualify as the winner. It could cause deterioration in exam results. I also worried of I am not lucky as others and I scared of being cheated too! However, seeing my friends around who had won many big prizes through contests, thus I joined the group as well! Few reasons that I am one of the contest freaks including I wish to win the things I wish to own for free, and of course peer influence.
There are various types of contests organized by different parties such as voting contests, slogan creation contests, game contests and etcetera. As much as we might despise voting contests, yet we often can't resist participating them as great prizes are offered. Voting contests require friends to help voting, unless the prizes won are meaningful otherwise I find it is bad to request others to vote in order to let you win the prize. Well, that's just my inkling. =) I prefer joining contests that do not need high votes such as create an interesting comment or slogan as these contests are easier and more challenging.
Here are some fabulous prizes that I won from contests during year 2011 and 2012, mainly through social networking site i.e. Facebook.
1. Poh Kong Shining Moms Contest ( Apr.- May '11) - It was THE MOST MEANINGFUL prize I ever (first) won from online contest. It requires contestants to create a comment with a jewellery which can represent their mom with a photo with mom. I used pearl to describe my mom and had successfully won a nice pearl necklace for her. She likes it very much! =)
2. Maybank MyDeepavali Contest ( Nov. '11) - I still remembered how Kiwi, Weilin, Sue Fern, Ser Pei, Maxloon Pui and I logged in Facebook for playing this game contest during that period. We need to visit each other's home and cook curry dishes, muruku and etc.
3.Sakae Sushi Malaysia New Year Treats Contest (Dec'11) - Won with the calendar 2012 which has monthly coupons inside. Uh.. I only used once as there's no Sakae Sushi outlets in BP. Huh! Wasted many coupons of it T.T
4. TheMalaysiaStreet (Feb'12 )- A bonus prize that was given by TMS i.e. RM100 Nando's Voucher which I used to spend Mother's Day with my family.
5. TheMalaysiaStreet (May'12 ) - A bonus prize that was given by TMS i.e. Yahoo Eco Journalbook which is said to be worth around $16. It was the 2nd time I won bonus prize from TMS for giving good comment on featured topics after winning RM100 Nando's Voucher in February'12.

7. Says.my (June'12) - A pair of Nando's Meal Vouchers had been won from Says 4th Anniversary Birthday Giveaway. Haha.. I am yet to receive the gifts.
8. Beautyarea2u's Who Wants Contest (July'12) - The prize was won out of my expectance as the contest was randomly picking the winner from the list of participants. Surprisingly, I was chosen ( I just participated on the day before it announced results) and the prize is a bracelet.
9. Nando's I feel Awesome Today Contest (July'12) - It's Nando's Malaysia's 100, 000 Awesome Facebook Peri-Peri lovers celebration and I am lucky to be one of 430 winners to get one full chicken voucher. I just received the voucher last week. Anyone wish to eat with me?! I don't think I can finish up a whole chicken myself!
By the way, I think Nando's Malaysia is great in doing promotion via social networking sites. I could see Nando's Malaysia team keeps updating status and having promotion or contests @ Facebook! Good one!
I just realized from the Facebook page that Peri-Peri ( in the Nando's Chicken) is high in anti-oxidants and contains capsaicin – commonly found in chillies,which helps enhance metabolism and increase calorie burn.
10. Mr Bean Malaysia (July'12) - Found this contest at Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/mr.bean.com.my) and I was attracted by the cute plush toys! The contest has two categories which are Most Creative and Most "likes" Comments categories with two grand prize winners and two consolation prize winners will be selected with the results being determined based on most creative and most 'likes' comments deemed appropriate.
I was surprised that I had been selected as one of the grand prize winners in which my prize will be Mr Bean Malaysia plush toy along with a Mr Bean Gift Bag courtesy from Mr Bean® Malaysia. Hmm.. I guessed I won it under most creative comment category as another grand prize winner has a handful of votes.

11. A sponsored blog post contest (July'12)- I came across this blog website Nicole Chang's sponsored blog post during June when I randomly visited few blogs in order to get some ideas to create new layouts. The blog posts of this lady are interesting!
Hehe, then I spotted out the blog owner organized a contest in which she is generously giving aways three sets of jewellery to the winners. The contest is interesting as contestants have to answer 'Why you love accessories?' and tweet that, 'Im joining @nicccchang 's accessories giveaway!' A simple contest with fantastic prizes! Haha, I love jewellery and I think this topic is easier for girls to answer. =)

12. HTC Malaysia (July'12) - Before the month of July ends, I had won another big prize which I was totally unexpected of winning it! Thanks to Maxloon Pui for introducing me to participate in this contest (http://bit.ly/LSxoD5) in which I needed to write a comment that why I want to win a HTC One S! I remembered I participated in the contest few hours before the contest ended. I felt lucky to be selected as the grand prize winner. My dear prize, I am going to hug you back in August, please wait patiently for me!

In this competitive era, everyone zealously looks for Fast, Convenient, High-technological gadgets such as digital single-lens reflex(DSLR) camera, mirorless interchangeable-lens camera,micro four thirds camera,digital camera, ipad and the onslaught of smartphones or androids with inbuilt camera nowadays. Well, subscribing to the title, let's see what can I do with Sony Cyber-shot WX100 in my daily life with some reasons that I will choose this camera instead of getting myself a smartphone with camera feature. Uh.. till now, I haven't own a digital camera yet =(

Although I am not a professional photographer, yet I always take frame-fitting snapshots. The frame-fitting snapshots here include self-capturing photos and larger manifestation of any objects that I want to capture such as leaves with various pattern, lines and textures which able to be captured with 20x clear image zoom and 10x Optical Zoom lens of Sony Cyber-shot WX100.

If you ever notice the WIX widget on the top of my blog, I used to draw, create some art crafts (e.g. bookmarks, voodoo dolls, greeting cards and etc.) and create some images or banners for my blog. I opine that background defocus mode can make the arts more stand-out and stunning. Blurred background produces exceptional effects that can clearly differentiate the subjects I wish to capture especially the arts! Indubitably, background defocus mode will be the best if I want to self-capture in fitting room! Haha..
Apart from DSLR, I think there are very less digital camera has this great background defocus shooting mode so far.
7) Use for Compatible Recording
Full HD movie recording with optical steadyshot (active mode) feature is one of the amazing functionalities of Sony Cyber-shot WX100 too! With this, I will video-recording for my multimedia projects under SIFE, university projects or even record unprecedented performance and public speaking like happened in SIFE National Exposition!
Hereby, I attach a video-recording project that my group had done for Kenegaraan Subject which I hope to own a digital camera to do the similar multimedia projects in future. Another video was recorded by my seniors which are impossible to be done by using our mobile devices which can only capture less than 3 minutes or with unclear and blurry outcomes.

Today is Black Thursday! The heavy rains poured right after jogging with my mom at Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) for one round and we had the Hobson's choice to run towards the car park within a short period. On the way running towards the car park, we could see many aunties and uncles who had the strong spirits were still insisted to continue their canopy trail at FRIM even though the dark clouds could be seen above our heads along with strong wind and rains. We got back home and we were shocked to find that the floor of the living room was dirty with sands asunder. As usual, my mom kept mumbling that the great act was done by my sis who wore shoes in the living room.
Okay, the climax of the story of the day is... During this depressing weather, the best activity to have at home will be sleeping. I took a nap around noontime, and I was awaken by sensing something was dropped on my legs. ( I felt blessed as having blanket covered my body as usual). Huh.. I went down from the bed and found a dark piece of stuffs on the floor. It looked like a poop of animals! It's weird as my mom just mopped the floor few minutes ago. Hmm.. After having lunch with mom, I continued with my computer work + tvb drama session. Out of sudden, I found a black stuff looking at me from the corner of my eyes. Perhaps my scream had made it frightened, and it ran towards my bed! At the same time, I found the poop on the same place that I just cleaned off just now! AH.. Disaster!
Gosh! It's neither Jerry nor Mickey Mouse that were created by Walt Disney!
It's a real creature, a real mouse! ...And it's huger than the mouse below!
Finding the fat mouse was the activity of day later! Mom asked me to lock the mouse inside my room!Ish!!! I thought the poop was from lizard or smaller animal! I moved out my clothes, laptop and cellphone from my room with the hope that my dad will catch the mouse when he's back from work later.
Huh... The night time was terrible. Along with the spoilage of lamps in kitchen, mom cooked the meals with candle lights, and I had my first attempt to wash dishes in the pitch dark surrounding with the only aid- the candle lights. The war against the mouse was unsuccessful! My dad kicked the furniture, luggage, cupboards and my bed in the room, hoping that the emitted noise could attract the mouse out. My dad just said," the mouse had disappeared la...you see, no mouse coming out", then he went downstairs. Thanks to my mom who came up to help me to pull out the stuffs to check if the mouse still there! Huh.. okay, with no finding in my room and another poop found in living room, we assumed that the mouse should have been leaving my room to living room and escaped away already!
It was a sleepless night! I couldn't fall asleep as scaring that the annoying visitor may still exist in my room. I guessed my dad was right, it's time to lodge a complaint to DBKL as the neighbour is being over-selfish! There's high probability that the mouse were come from there. Ish.. I couldn't understand why he could maltreat his dogs, place many stuffs at the lanes and disallow others to park cars at there by claiming that the lane belongs to him! I hope he could buy more mouse traps! I HATE MOUSE COMING TO VISIT ME!
It's a boring afternoon after coming back from jogging with mom. As usual, I browsed through the internet and engrossed with my e-book reading activities. While browsing through Google, I noticed that's a small camera icon at the browsing tab. I tried to use Microsoft Powerpoint tools to draw the camera icon. Haha.. Interestingly, the icon can be drawn by just using 2 basic shapes i.e. square and circle. Well, the above picture was just created due to boredom =)

Anyone heard of pterygium? Based on the wikipedia, it refers to a benign growth of the conjunctiva. My dad had complained about the pain and redness of his eyes more often since I came back from BP. On Saturday, my family and I had gone for shopping at Metro Prima, intending to purchase some books from the bookstore. I was shocked when I found my dad's eye had a flesh slightly protruding out in his right eye. It came to our concern where he might have some severe eye infection.
On the next day, we brought him to the nearest eye specialist clinic to have a check-up and he had been diagnosed to have pterygium which is caused by long-term exposure of sunlight, dusts, low humidity and etc. The doctor said the right eye's pterygium is aggressive as it grew hostilely towards the cornea. Dad had been advised to undergo the operation as fast as possible. Huh!!! Terrible~~ I just couldn't bear with the explanation of the surgery! I felt the pain!
Anyway, dad had undergone the surgery on Monday for his eyes and the doctor said the condition was quite good. However, the redness of the eyes will remain for at least 3 months, and dad had to stay at home for a week. I could feel he was bored. Looking at him kept wiping up the teary eyes and he had to bear with the scar on his cornea, it made me felt upset as I couldn't help anything for that. What I can do is praying for his health and hope that his eyes will be recovering faster!

If you weren't worked so hard and be exposed to long-term sunlight just to earn a living for us,
you wouldn't have got the pterygium! Love you always!
It's Monday again! Monday's blue could be faced by many working adults as the hectic week is started again. However, we can always reduce the depression by eating or having foods party! It may not work for those who lose appetites when he or she is in bad mood. But, eating is often the best way to cure Monday's blue for me.
My mom, sister and I had our brunch at Amy's Dessert Corner which is located at the shop houses at Taman Bukit Desa. Dried Beancurd and Ginkgo Nuts Dessert is one of my favourite Chinese dessert. When this dessert is on the way to be served to our table, the aroma of it can be smelled from far.
* SLURP * It's with epicurean taste and delicious!!! The best thing about the desserts here is the standard level of sweetness.
Apart from Dried Beancurd and Ginkgo Nuts Dessert, we had order yam cake as well. The yam cake is savory and delicious with deep fried shallots, garnished spring onion and dried shrimp on top of it. I am not so satisfied with the chili paste as I prefer Penang's! =)

Apart from these foods, foods of the day and dessert of the day are available too. My mom loves the red bean soup of the Amy's Dessert Corner as it's not too sweet. Nasi Lemak is available during every Tuesday while Asam Laksa is available each Wednesday.
Worth to give it a try as the foods are not over priced and the desserts are well-recommended!
